Global Warming: It's Causes And Effects

What is Global Warming? How did it start? How will it continue? What will happen to humanity? One day we will be gone due to our own ignorance???

Global warming is the continuing rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. For 2.4 million years, the Earth's climate has fluctuated cycling from Ice Ages to warmer periods. But in the last century the planet's temperature has risen unusually fast about 1.2 to 1.4 degree Fahrenheit. Scientists believe its human activity that's driving the temperature up; A process is known as Global Warming.

Greenhouse Gases and Greenhouse Effects
Global warming is a natural event but is being major contributed by humans. Today the quality of the atmosphere has been irreversibly reputedly over time. Ever since the industrial revolution began, factories, powerplants and eventually cars have burn fossil fuel such as oil and coil releasing huge amount of Carbon Dioxide(CO2) and other gases into atmosphere. These Greenhouse gases trap heat near the Earth through a natural occurring process called The Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse Effect begins with the sun and the energy that radiates to the Earth. The Earth and the atmosphere absorb some of this energy while the rest is radiated out back into space.

So how does this happen? It is do something called Enhanced Greenhouse Effect, which is a key ingredient to Global Warming.

Enhanced Greenhouse Effect
Greenhouse gases includes water vapor(H2O gas), Carbon Dioxide(CO2), Methane(CH4), Nitrous Oxide(N2O) and Ozone(O3). Greenhouse gases help to regulate the temperature of the Earth. The rays of the Sun warm the Earth and the Earth reflects the radiated heat outwards. Greenhouse gases prevent this heat from escaping the surface of the Earth. Without these gases the temperature of the Earth would be unbearable colder. But the problem is that the atmosphere is continuing to consist of more and more CO2 & greenhouse gases due to humankind and therefore making the radiation  from the sun become trapped on earth and which heats up the planet.

Since the beginning of industrial revolution N2O which is used as fertilizer has increased 18%, CO2 from fossil fuel combustion 39% and CH4 148%. By adding more greenhouse gasses we have alter the natural cycle of the atmosphere making it harder for radiation to escape to outer space.

When too much CO2 is put up into the atmosphere that disrupts the balance like supersaturating and already existing solution. CO2 already makes up 0.03% of the atmosphere and which is steady increasing.
For Example: If you put sugar in water, there is a limit to which sugar and water no longer mix.
Same happens here, if you put too much CO2 up, it absorbs infrared radiation and will overall increase the amount of energy and will increase the overall temperature.

Scientist now believe that the greenhouse effect is being intensified by the extra greenhouse gases that human's have released. Evidence for global warming includes the recent string of very warm years. Scientist report that 2016 was the warmest year in measured history with 2015 was the second. Meanwhile radiant taken from ice cores shows that the greenhouse gases CO2 & CH4 have their highest level in the past 420 thousands years.

Arctic sea ice is also shrinking. According to NASA studies, the extent of Arctic Sea ice has decline about 10% in the last 30 Years. As long as industrialize nations consume energy and developing countries increase their fossil fuel consumption, the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will continue to rise. Researchers predict that the temperature will increase to 2 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century.

Some climate models predict sudden changes, their forecast, rising sea level which could flood coast hilarious around the world. Winters are generally shorter and warmer, rain comes in heavier down force. Tropical storms are much more intense, more destructive and more frequent. weather patterns could change, making Hurricane more frequent, savior drought could become more common in warm areas and species unable to adopt the changes in conditions, would face extinction.

Although much remains to be learned about the global warming. Many organizations advocate cutting greenhouse gases emission to reduce the impact of global warming.

Consumers can help by saving energy around the house. Switching the compact fluorescent light bulb and driving few miles in car can be avoided. These simple changes may help to keep Earth colder in future.
